Dante

The name Dante derives from the Italian name Durante, which means “lasting, enduring” which seemed so beautifully appropriate for this little charming new friend of mine. Dante isn't pining for love, he waits patiently, eagerly and steadfastly for that promise he is sure fate will keep. Time may be marching on but he's just as eager to share this rose with his foretold soulmate TODAY as he was a hundred years ago. His heart is coated with optimism, anticipation and hope that no amount of cold nights, hot days and the endless spin of time can dampen. He knows in his warm glowing heart, it will all be worth the wait.

Dante is sculpted in Polymer clay and Aves Apoxie Sculpt, which has been tinted and painted with fade resistant colors.

His bright blue eyes are that are mouth blown glass, and is a painted to appear as his armor has patinated with varied greens, and earthy hews atop silver, coppers, bronzes and golds. While he has sat so patiently, his armor frozen in this pose, he also has cultivated small patches of moss around his face and armor seams.

His face, fingers and fingernails are polymer clay, lighted tinted and sealed with wax.

This figure is approximately 13 inches tall and 7 inches wide.  This piece was completed in April 2022.
