a Poem for Drago:

A dragon is a most magnificent thing,
With scales and sharp teeth and strange membranous wing.
Drago loved them so deeply he's made his own suit,
Spent years finding scales and additional loot.
Fueled by his passion he worked night and day,
And now roams around in a dragon-like way.
He poses and scratches, stretches out in the sun,
Flaps his wings and breathes fire, and imagines more fun.
His adventures are many in his new dragon skin,
And the fairy tale creatures love the elf bay within.
So they tolerate scratches and burns and the nips,
And the drooling and thrashing and ferocious tail whips.
Because they know the creature inside is still there,
And although they are scaly, dragons still need our care.
Sometimes love is hard, with the dragon skin type,
But a true dragon friend is worth all the hype.
Their carapace is tough, but his heart is still him,
Still needs and shows love and fierce fire within.
But it's true and it strange and it's beautiful to see,
The dichotomy the love of the dragon can be.

Drago was a delightful piece, the second in and concept of my "lost boys" elf series, where elves are expressing their inner persona. This piece really was laden with lots of personal angles, and meant a great deal to me, not only in it's detail but also in the underlying story. 

The hand sculpted One of a Kind piece Drago is a original piece (not a casting) and will not be duplicated. He is sculpted over an armature in Aves Apoxie Sculpt and Prosculpt Polymer Clay he stands 8 inches tall. His eyes are a beautiful blue green German mouth blown glass. This figure has been hand painted, sealed, and signed.
